The first 76 new styled whizzwheeled cars had white or purple glass, which is why these still appear with Batmobile on the bottom. Once all these were used, they switched to the national periodical bottom with the new style whizzwheels.
From 76, they had national periodical on the bottom, instead of Batmobile. Some 76 whizzwheels do still have the word Batmobile on instead of national periodical, and this occurs mainly with the white glass and purple glass. Corgi had spare bins around that they used the parts of when they had run out, this is why this mistake occurred for a few hundred Batmobiles Batmobiles, with different windshields, occurred because of a mistake in the dye.
Purple was too much dye, white they simply forgot to put dye in. This error occurred just twice, in 1975. Once with the purple, once with the white. They had literally thousands of them so had to run with them. This stopped in 77, when they had used up all of the purple and white glass and then went back to using the blue. Normally, this fault would have been rejected, but there were simply too many of them to chuck away. They ran with them simply because of cost cutting. Which is why the Batmobile changed so much over the years.
The clear screen didn't show up until 1975, so any clear screens had the deep dish 8 spoke wheels treaded tyres. The only two versions that had the smooth tyres were the red tyred and the aqua coloured black tyred version.
The clear screen and the purple screens continued until 1977, when they were all used. The 1976 whizzwheels carried some of the parts they had left over, such as the silver aerial and the Batmobile base and the two different coloured canopies. This never happened to the blue glass 76 whizzwheel types, because they didnt start using the blue glass again until 1977, when they'd used all the Batmobile bottoms and the silver aerials. The glass colours were simply an error in the dye they used, when moulding the screens. These were at first rejected, but Corgi had too many of them to chuck away, so they used them. This was the same for the red tyred car too.
Between 1966 and 1983, you can find some eight different shade of canopy color:
- Aqua (common 1966-1974)
- Aqua green (very very few)
- Light Aqua (very very few)
- Green (very very few)
- Light purple (very very few)
- Purple (very few 1975-1977)
- Clear (few 1975-1977)
- Light blue (common 1977-1983)

Very few of the last 1974 8 spoke black tyres have a light aqua canopy before light or purple canopy, it's not light blue but different shades of aqua glass (discolored or light aqua canopy )!! The Red Tyres never had light aqua canopy, this below was a fake, it's a 1974, 8 spoke, black tyres, and light aqua canopy with wheels changed (remenber : The bat-emblems on the side of a red tyred Batmobile were noticeably thinner on the sides. If you own a red tyred that has the same emblems as any previous Batmobile or any that followed then its not genuine). However aqua the Red Tyres below was genuine.

Aqua green is a genuine color or they are usually discolored simply by the sun? They were left for a long period of time in the shop window, which if it was at the front of the display, they ended up being discolored. One bat sticker would have turned orange. I myself own a battered 67 model where the screen is totally the wrong color and this is what caused it.
In my opinion, this version “Gloss black, no towhook” with an aqua green canopy could be happened.
